The Champs Elysees is one of the busiest areas in Paris and one of the most popular with tourist. As part of the manufactured evolution of the area, many restaurants have opened in and around the Champs Elysees over the years. There are restaurants to suit all tastes, and budgets and expectations. Below are just some of the restaurants in the area which must be tried:
Chez Catherine - Chez Catherine is a must try for those who seek a quiet location away from the busyness of the city. It is nicely located down a quiet side street and the chef, who happens to be the regarded as one of the top female chefs in the country, uses fresh local produce to create traditional French dishes which have more than a hint of a south-western influence.
La Place - Located in the Raddison SAS hotel on the Champs Elysees, La Place is classy restaurant which specialises in fine French cuisine. The sophisticated feel is achieved with a minimalist approach to decor and top class service. The outdoor seating area is directly in the centre of the city, providing a great people watching spot.
L'ane Rouge - For those who like to mix good food with a high standard of entertainment the L'ane Rouge is the perfect choice. This venue is famed for its comedy shows. Located in a gloriously decorated cellar, the venue is non-smoking which ensures a pleasant dining experience. There is a range of speciality French dishes with roast donkey being the specialty.
Lasserre - This restaurant is close to the Champs Elysees and the guest must ensure they are well turned out if they are to dine at this fashionable venue. The restaurant became famous during the Second World War and is still decorated in the classic decor for which it became renowned. The large drapes which cover the windows and the stunning chandeliers are accompanied by crystal glasses to provide a really classy setting.
Lido Des Paris - The Lido Des Paris is a must try experience not only due to the high quality of food that is served here. It is also the location for one of the best known cabarets in the world, meaning that your meal will certainly never be uneventful. Since 1946 some of the most famous names in entertainment have played the Lido des Paris and the world famous Bluebell girls still grace the stage on a regular basis. The spectacular entertainment which accompanies the spectacular food is not cheap, but it is certainly good value.
