Started out as a little fishing village, Positano raised its fame during the Sixties, when writers, musicians, directors and famous actors crowded its streets and made this charming town a fashionable place.

Nothing has changed since then, because Positano still has the power to make everybody fall in love at first sight.

Walk through the streets of this fascinating town and don't miss the chance to admire the lively colored houses, a typical trademark of the Amalfi Coast. A pair of comfortable shoes will be the proper choice since Positano is a pedestrian town full of stairs.

The main street of Positano, via Cristoforo Colombo, is full of luxurious shops and boutiques where you could buy handmade clothes known as "Moda Positano", leather accessories and precious pottery.

Positano is a good starting point if you want to take the opportunity to visit the other towns of the Amalfi Coast or the famous and beautiful island of Capri; you can rent a car, but if you want to know more about the history of the coast, perhaps you should consider the idea of a guided bus tour.

To find a good hotel room, all you have to do is choosing among a lot of various and beautiful hotels in Positano, most of them located in the centre of the town where you can book a comfortable room for you and your friends to relax after a long day of walking.

Along with Positano, Ravello is perhaps the most visited spot of the coast. Musicians and dancers from all over the world get together every year for the well known Ravello Festival, a summer event with classic and jazz concerts, ballets and shows of various kind.

A curiosity: the Academy Award winner director Anthony Minghella, chose the Amalfi Coast to film the external scenes of "The Talented Mister Ripley", starring international stars like Matt Damon and Jude Law.

Another place you don't have to miss is Amalfi.The beautiful cathedral of the city was built in the IX century and is located in the amazing "Piazza del Duomo", the main square of the city.
