Apulia (Puglia) region in Italy forms the eastern most part of the peninsula and has a long coastline, facing the Ionian and the Adriatic Seas.
Crystal blue sea, green countryside, intense red terrain, golden sunsets.... from Porto Cesareo to Peschici, from Bari to Taranto, from Vieste to Brindisi, from Otranto to the Tremiti Islands, you can experience a multitude of emotions while visiting Apulia all year round.
The region is divided into six provinces: Bari (which is the regional capital), Brindisi, Foggia, Lecce, Taranto and the recently-constituted province of Barletta-Andria-Trani. The area around Lecce and the southernmost tip of the 'heel' is called the Salento dotted with wonderful beaches and seaside towns.

Apulia is a land of flavors and fragrances, the Apulia cuisine maintains much of its traditional, ancient flavor and cooking style. Olive oil, fresh vegetables, seafood, legumes, mozzarellas, cheese, and wine are the key elements of its cuisine. Apulia's cuisine is delicious, yet simple at the same time. It is perfect for those who follow a vegetarian diet as well as for those who enjoy the authentic Mediterranean food.
Many low cost airlines offer budget flights from the UK and from Ireland (and also from Milan and Rome) to Bari and Brindisi airports. Bari Airport (called Palese Airport). From the airport there is a local bus service into the centre of Bari and an airport shuttle bus which runs straight to the railway station of Bari. Puglia has another international airport at Brindisi, called Brindisi Casale Airport. Brindisi airport is the closest to the Salento district.
A wedding in Puglia offers many special touches thanks to the region's wonderful culture, traditions, exquisite cuisine, wines and scenery. Last trend is to celebrate Weddings in wonderful and historic "masserie" in Apulia.

The main construction period for the masserie, (plural, in Italian of "masseria" ) were the 16th and 17th centuries and many have more farm houses on the estate including a small church or chapel where catholic weddings can be celebrated. You can find many examples masserie in Puglia particularly in the countryside around areas of Taranto, Brindisi and Lecce and many nowadays have been finely restored and turned into top luxury locations with all modern comforts, wellness centers and swimming pools.
