The French culture not just Parisian has enormous pleasure in taking both time and interest in what and when they eat. You will notice on your trip to Paris that a lot of boutiques still close between noon and 14.00hrs and that time to eat is sacred!

Brasseries are generally the only restaurants that serve food throughout the day, compared to traditional restaurants which keep the noon to 14.00hrs and 19.30hrs to midnight serving hours. Turn up after 14.00hrs in most restaurants and you will find it hard to get served. For Dinner, the tradition is to eat at 20.00hrs so book ahead so as not to be disappointed if you would like to try any of our recommendations below for Restaurants with a view!

No holiday walking in France would be complete without sampling various forms of the regional cuisine. The good news is that there's no need to worry too much about restaurant etiquette, though a little basic awareness might help you avoid feeling awkward!
Restaurants and restaurants
In many English speaking countries, restaurant etiquette is relatively informal just about everywhere, apart perhaps from the very top-end establishments. When on a holiday walking in France, you may be pleasantly reassured to know that the vast majority of restaurants will also be relaxed and relatively informal. Of course, there will be haute cuisine establishments that bring with them certain formal conventions, but these are a relative minority. Dining is typically a relaxed affair, whether breakfast, dinner or lunch.
Yet there are a few things worth knowing!

London has bout six thousand licensed restaurants and three and a half thousand pubs. It is home to about twenty two percent of the total restaurants in the whole of Britain. The menu includes cuisines from seventy major countries. London also has about thirty six Michelin star rated restaurants. London is known for its pubs and night life. About five underground stations are named after pubs. These are Angel, Swiss Cottage, Royal Oak, Elephant & Castle, and Manor House.

The city has small food joints, takeaway joints, and also sophisticated restaurants. You name it and you have it. The cuisines available are exotic and range from African, Asian, to Japanese and Chinese. Veeraswamy, Moti Mahal and Amaya are the best places for Indian food. Amaya is famous for its Awadhi dishes. Italian food can be found at the L'Anima and Zucca. These serve Italian food at its best and in central London. The juicy, rosy grilled veal chop is a must have in Zucca. Its interesting that London also has eating options for the pure vegetarians. Something that is a little difficult to find in many other parts of the world. One of the great pleasures of visiting other countries is experiencing the local cuisine and Italy, the land of pizza and pasta, is naturally no exception.
Italian cooking is quite regional, with the local specialities a treat to find out, and so it is with Turin, which as well as having some excellent restaurants is much more affordable than many places, such as Rome, Paris or London.

Nightlife in Barcelona

Author: Asif Khan

Barcelona is well known for its fantastic shopping, beaches and of course Gaudi, But the nightlife in Barcelona is also amazing hanks to the mix of students, foreigners, and tourists all looking for a good night out. There are lots of different styles of bars and clubs all located in the centre, with some of these even having proper restaurants, rather than just bar snacks. And like any major city in Spain, there are also some fantastic nightclubs and late night entertainment venues right through from hip hop and R&B to live Funky House DJ's, all of which make you wish there were more hours in the day!
The streets of Barcelona are studded with world-class clubs and bars. There is a pub at every turn and curve of the road, where you can enjoy different music and ambience. Barcelona nightlife is also famous for its live music and you can dance the night away to the songs played by some highly promising bands.
It seems Barcelona never really wanted to offer the cheap 2 week holiday and instead opted for the more reputable tourist. However this all changed after the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, and it is safe to say Barcelona is now one of the most visited European cities visited by tourists looking for some serious fiesta.
For many people, the nightlife of a city begins with its restaurants - and, here again, Barcelona loses nothing in comparison with any other European city. Being an international port has always meant that there are many different nationalities in the Catalan capital city and so most international cuisines are represented here. Whether your tastes are Oriental, Middle Eastern, American or European, you will be sure to find good restaurants to satisfy them. In addition, Catalan cuisine itself - the food of the sea and mountains, as it is often known - goes back to the thirteenth century and is Mediterranean cooking at its absolute finest.
Containing a good number of types of cheap Barcelona hotel, Port Vell is located in the east of Barcelona. Diners will be treated to picturesque ocean views from the windows and terraces of the restaurants here, while there are also a good number of nightclubs and bars to choose from

7 Tips to Fit in Like a Native When You Travel to Italy

The Chamber of Deputies, Palazzo Montecitorio.Image via Wikipedia

Search Amazon.com for Vino Con Vista
Are you visiting Italy soon and wondering how you are going to survive without speaking Italian?

Well, you are really lucky as the Italians are a nation of communicators, even if you can't speak their language.

For a start, you'll notice everyone greets you either with a 'Buon Giorno' in the morning, or 'Buona Sera' in the late afternoon/evening. So these are two short phrases you want to learn straightaway.

Whether you are visiting relatives, on a business trip
or just going on vacation, it will be wise to know a few rules of the land before you go:

1. In Italy the pedestrian crossings tend to be there to add a splash of color to the road, Italians rarely use them, preferring instead to take their chances wherever it's convenient for them to cross.

2. Cars, scooters and motorbikes tend not to stop or even slow down at a pedestrian crossing, unless there is a set of traffic lights.

3. Don't expect to eat a full meal if it is outside the regular eating hours of most Italians, which is between 12.00 noon and 3.00pm and 7.00pm - 11.00pm. If you want to eat
between those times, visit the variety of cafe bars in every Italian town or city for a snack.

4. If you just want a quick coffee or espresso, you will need to queue at the cash desk or the 'cassa' to pay for your drink beforehand, then give your receipt to the bar person, or 'barrista' and tell him your order.

5. Most cafe bars have waiter service only at the tables, both inside and outside, so don't attempt to serve yourself and sit down at a table, as the waiter will not be pleased.

6. Italians love their style and are keen to present a good image or bella figura, so avoid wearing shorts and a t-shirt for dinner in a restaurant, as this attire is considered too casual.

7. Finally... enjoy, enjoy, enjoy all that Italy has to offer and as the Italians say 'Buon divertimento!'
